Throughout the year, TCS Director of Admissions Services, Jeremy Tiers, is a guest on different Higher Ed podcasts and webinars. These are some of the most popular episodes that you should check out:
When was the last time you audited your communications flow? Or how about the last time you took a hard look at the language you use in the emails and letters that you send prospective students and parents? Zach Busekrus of the ‘Enrollify’ podcast sat down with Jeremy in April 2020 to discuss why the words you use really matter, and how colleges can develop more personalized, empathetic, and engaging communications.
This 2020 webinar was part of eduWeb’s ‘Lunch and Learn’ series. Jeremy joined Harrison “Soup” Campbell of ZeeMee and Megan Miller of RHB to discuss where Higher Ed marketers and admissions counselors can dedicate their energy as they fight summer melt, address attrition risks, and gear up to recruit next year’s students. Topics include understanding students’ priorities, fears, and needs; exploring what relationship-building looks like in the midst of a pandemic; and identifying the opportunities that exist as marketers navigate unfamiliar terrain.
The ‘Undeclared’ podcast is one of the best out there for Higher Ed Marketers. Allison Lanier and Scott Fogelman of Up&Up Agency had Jeremy on in 2019 to talk about lessons that admissions can learn from athletics, how marketing plays a role in the admissions ladder, the importance of personalized communications, vlogging, and much more!
This was the second time Jeremy was a guest on Higher Ed Live – Admissions Live. In this 2018 webinar Jeremy was part of a panel discussion with some amazing and innovative higher ed pro’s. The focus was on yield season and what accepted students (and their parents) want from colleges when it comes to communications and activities.
For all the time, money and effort spent on getting prospective students to visit campus, once they are actually there, sometimes things fall flat. In this 2017 episode Jeremy teams up with Tudor Collegiate Strategies Founder and President, Dan Tudor, to talk about how admissions departments and coaches can improve the visit experience. Dan even shares some observations from his family’s recent visit to a college campus – what went right, and what went wrong. It’s a fascinating discussion that will give you direction on how to identify the bad things you may be doing during your visits, as well as what to do differently in the future.
Historically, college and universities have been much more interested in policies and procedures than hospitality, entertainment, and customer service. That continues to change and hospitality has become a buzzword in college admissions. On this episode of Admissions Live, Jeremy joined admissions leaders from High Point University and Washington College to talk about hospitality, improving customer service, and what prospective students and their families want during college visits.
