Our engaging workshops are effective for both new and veteran staff working with traditional or non-traditional students. We have a team of enrollment management and communication experts who will equip everyone with sales tools as well as the latest best practices around how to connect, build personal relationships and trust, create engagement, communicate value, and drive action. Popular workshop offerings are outlined below, but keep in mind that customization is at the core of everything we do.
RECRUITING 101 WORKSHOP: THE BASICS
Our most requested training workshop is a two-day experience.
Prior to this training we conduct a unique focus group survey with your current or incoming first-year students to get key insights about their college search and decision making processes. The results are shared with all attendees, and they allow us to further customize your workshop.
Day one involves 6 to 7 hours of in-person learning, sharing, and strategizing. We’ll talk about what it means to work in Higher Ed, how this generation of students is navigating their college search, and we’ll provide proven sales, communication, and relationship building strategies, tips and techniques that everyone can immediately put into practice. Topics include organizing your day, differentiating the experiences you offer, personalization, getting conversations started, the importance of leading the conversation, asking direct and intentional questions, best practices for emails, letters, phone calls, text messages, and social media, storytelling, communicating with parents, talking about cost and your school’s value proposition, territory management, fall travel, and more!
These engaging sessions will help your staff better represent your college or university on campus, online, and on the road.
On day two we take the time to meet 1-on-1 with each admissions and enrollment marketing staff member and leader, giving them additional personalized training and direction based on their individual needs and experience.
Being able to consistently execute ‘the basics’ will continue to be a big key to increasing your yield.
The cost for this two-day workshop is between $4,500-$5,500, plus travel expenses.
YIELD WORKSHOP
This one-day workshop focuses on a variety of yield and conversion topics.
The morning session will be 3 to 4 hours of group training and discussion, and the afternoon will consist of 1-on-1 meetings with various admissions and enrollment marketing staff members.
Frequent topics for the group training include prioritizing within your admitted student population, key questions to ask your admitted students, admitted student events, effective communication with parents, overcoming objections and concerns, storytelling, closing and making the ‘the ask’, and preventing melt.
The cost for this one-day workshop is between $3,500-$4,000, plus travel expenses.
RECRUITING PLUS TRAINING PACKAGE
This option includes the two-day ‘Recruiting 101’ workshop (usually done in the summer or fall), plus the one-day yield workshop (usually done in the late winter or spring).
YEARLONG TRAINING PACKAGE
This option will include six different training touchpoints throughout the recruiting cycle. Two will be in-person (the ‘Recruiting 101’ workshop and the Yield workshop), and four will be done virtually via Zoom. Three of the four virtual sessions will be roundtable discussions lasting between 45 minutes-1 hour. The final virtual session will be a second set of 1-on-1 meetings with each admissions and enrollment marketing staff member and leader. The timing of each training touchpoint is as follows:
June, July, or August – Recruiting 101 workshop
October or November – Zoom roundtable discussion after fall travel season
December – Zoom roundtable discussion about financial aid
January – 1-on-1 meetings on Zoom
March or April – Yield workshop
May – Zoom roundtable discussion about summer melt and recruiting the next class
ADMISSIONS & ATHLETICS WORKSHOP PACKAGE
This can be done as a one-day or two-day workshop. Prior to the training we conduct two unique focus group surveys with your current or incoming first-year students (one with non-athletes, and one with athletes) to get key insights about their college search and decision making processes. The workshop includes a joint training component with your entire admissions and athletic staffs, as well as some separate training for each group led by different members of the Tudor Collegiate Strategies team. If the two-day option is selected, we will also conduct 1-on-1 meetings with various staff members.
